NOTE to Cecil Times Readers: Gone Fishin’
NOTE to CECIL TIMES readers: Cecil Times is taking a summer break for two weeks. So we will be absent from our usual front-row seat at the weekly circus in Elkton, otherwise known as the Commish meetings. We will be checking periodically for comments on the website and info from readers at our Cecil Times email. But during some of our travels, Internet access will be limited.
We hope to return from our break with recharged batteries for what will likely be a fall political season full of nuttiness, nastiness and name-calling, or politics as usual in our fair county.
Some of the “fun” we can look forward to are Tier Wars– fights over how to comply with state planning mandates that will limit development– Appointment Anarchy (another round of appointments to county boards and advisory panels will be coming up) and Mud Wrestling contests as the county heads toward the November elections and the selection of two County Council members and the first-ever County Executive. (But most of the mud will likely come from outside the candidates in the ring, tossed by the dirt-dispensers who tried to muddy up the primary elections.)
Enjoy the county fair and other local events celebrating summer and the quality of life we enjoy in our fair county. We will try to put the “other stuff” out of mind, too, at least for a few weeks.
