		<description><![CDATA[Early voting tallies for the historic Cecil County election for the first County Executive show Republican Tari Moore ahead and fellow Republicans Robert Hodge and Alan McCarthy leading in two County Council races. Moore, currently serving as a County Commissioner from District 2, received 2,949 votes—51.7 percent—of early voting ballots while Democrat Pam Howard, the former three-term county Treasurer—showed 2,742 votes or 48.07 percent. In District 1, Republican Alan McCarthy held a solid lead, with 3,330 votes or 59.46 percent of the early vote, over his Democratic rival Pamela Bailey, who received 2256 votes or 40.29 percent of the early voting tally. In District 5, Robert Hodge, currently a Republican county Commissioner, was ahead with 2,938 votes or 52.36 percent of the early voting count. His Democratic rival, James Crouse, the former mayor of Elkton, drew 2,666 votes or 47.51 percent. In Cecil County, state election officials reported there were 5,891 total ballots cast in early voting, amounting to 9.42 percent of the county’s 62,524 eligible voters.
