I am shocked that Cecil County has lost so many jobs while our county government seems to have been asleep, but other counties were working hard for their citizens. Now about 200 people will be unemployed and have to try to find other work, when so many residents have to drive many miles to find any jobs out of the county or even out of state.

The county economic development person should resign in shame.

I'm not sure why it was so hard to come up with $500,000 for the county. Some Cecil County Departments got as much as nine times that much last year just to increase their budget. Within about 1 hour, we came up with $200,000 to fix a geothermal system that failed when we could have replaced with a natural gas unit for far less. I'd like to ask those workers who are going to loose their jobs if they could have come up with the $500,000 in this years budget that was needed to save 192 jobs. These jobs are what create revenue for the county to operate on. Economic development is the heart beat of this county and is what is needed to sustain the tax base that we survive on.
