Mary,
Sometimes politics is like making sausage: the process is ugly but end the end it tastes good. Diana appears to me to be fighting a lonely battle for the taxpayers of Cecil County, with some support from Mr. Dunn. She is the only one standing up for the taxpayer, while others run up big debt and spending after running as fiscal conservatives. Any attacks should be on the issues and facts not personnel unless responding to a like attack.

I agree, Joe. As long as it's on point and doing the taxpayer's business. Listening to the audio and hearing Broomell's never ending monologue of random thoughts, self-promotion, and frequent attacks on anyone who doesn't agree with her, has me wondering not only about her motives, but her sanity.

The idea of requiring contractors to use the local work force or businesses is not new. By not looking at this issue we create an unfair playing field for those who are vital to helping our county maintain a healthy economy. The loss of revenue to locals places a drain also on our goods and services as income limitations change an area's demographics.

Currently our County government hires outside vendors when local business sources exist that could provide the same at equal of lower costs. Interestingly the member of the Council who proposed this idea is the most familiar with interstate commerce.

On a different note good manners are a matter of teaching and do not occur naturally. I would suggest applying a stern lesson in Robert's Rules in lieu of additional regulations.
