Joe, E J was not necessarily a bad representative, however he was a bad person. You were witness as well as I was to his dirty campaign habits. Content of character is important to me. That’s why I don’t like Broomell either.

Also, I don’t consider myself a republican or a democrat. I am a conservative. Party doesn’t matter to me. As for the Tea Party, E.J. never attended one Tea Party in Cecil County nor did he ever return a phone call to them. I know this first hand. And lastly, E.J. did not fight for all objectives of the Tea Party.

The Tea Party stressed fiscal responsibility. Pushing teacher pension obligations on to the counties (which E.J. supported)instead of dealing with them at the state level is being irresponsible. Remember, it was the state who gave that sweetheart deal to the teachers, not the counties.

There has to be more to this story. Doesn’t make sense, but it’s a good thing as long as the Republicans don’t get bullied by Smiegel to fill the seat because this would have a ripple effect and we would be much worse off than we are now. I’m afraid that Mullin would be anxious to fill that Delegate’s seat now that he is out of a county job.
