I attended yesterdays commissioner meeting and feel quite embarrassed to claim Commissioner Broomell as my commissioner. She once again showed her colors in being both controlling and manipulative. Controlling? She was OK having a bridge built as long as it was to her specifications rather than the spec's recommended by Scott Flanigan, a professional certified engineer, even though a functional design had already been approved weeks ago.

Manipulating? Broomell wanted Hodge to recluse himself from voting on the bridge since he lived in close proximity to it. However, she refused to recluse herself from any decision that would affect the widening of Rt. 222 where she resides. Quite a double standard. I think that it's time we find a way to neutralize this control freak so that Cecil County can move forward.
