Sandra,

I can fix my own AC and car. My wife cuts my hair, and I work very hard to earn enough to buy heath insurance. I care very much about my community, and that's why I can't support a single dime more for CCPS or any part of the failed public school system from Maryland to California. Every year they suck more and more money out of us and produce nothing of value because they don't know what they are doing.

Let me tell you if they are allowed to continue they will suck the very life out of this community to fund their failed attempts to get the job done and there will be no community.

CCPS once had vocational programs in EVERY high school, but then decided it was better for everyone to go to college and worship sports.

Why do you think that building sits vacant? If these so called educated leaders had done their jobs we wouldn't be in the sad shape we find ourselves today. Sorry, but you know not of what you speak.

Enough is enough! Stop the Insanity in Education Now! We can't afford it NO MORE!!!

The cost of this concept is $16.4 million. The cost of a new building would be more than double. The original proposal for a new school on the [current school's] grounds was $61.7 million.

This [Basell] property will allow CCPS to eliminate the waiting list of over 150 students. More programs can be offered such as Animal Science/Agriculture, Plumbing, Biomedical Sciences, and more. Parks and Rec can use the land for more sports programs. Cecil College can share the resources as well.

Our taxes would not have to increase to pay for it. The county can use bonds or their general fund to pay for it. CCPS will pay for the operation and maintenance costs out of their allotted budget. TThis is a win/win situation for the future of Cecil County!

If more students were afforded the opportunity to receive training in a technical programs we very well may see less spending on social programs. Not every student is college material, nor every family able to pay, even with a government loan.

Those who sit back and sling cow patties haven't a clue what these students face after graduation. Where are the jobs for the untrained? If you truly cared about your community you would support any improvement in the education of the ones that will ultimately make decisions on YOUR future one day. I'm guessing you don't mind having foreigners who can't speak English work on your car, cut your hair, care for you in the hospital and fix your air conditioning on a hot summer day.
