If Jacob and Virginia Carson want to ensure that the farm which is ready to be sold to an Amish family is preserved as farmland in the future, why is it that taxpayer money needs to be paid to them? If that’s what they want, why don’t they write it into the sales contract?

This seems to be a complicated form of legalized extortion placed upon county taxpayers to bolster the profits on the sale of a private interest. This seems to be just one more instance where the interests of the 3 Amigos will prevail in catering to special interests from people like the Kilby’s. Also, with the push foreward of O’Malleys PlanMD, this property stands a rats chance in h— of ever being developed anyway.

This is just one more reason why it is important that responsible citizens of Cecil County must work hard to neutralize and then eliminate the influence of the 3 Amigos.

…This is a terrible deal for cash-strapped taxpayers. But when has a taxpayer’s own budget ever been a dot on the horizon of a commissioner?

Is this farm in the “growth corridor?” Without water and sewer sevice would this farm ever be developed? Looks like this was simply a grant to the buyer. I would rather see grants to promote business in the “growth corridor.”
