Yes, that “happy meal” rate cut was funded out of the fund balance and that was a primary reason that Tari Moore said she voted against the budget this year.

However, it took the spending cuts to get the budget down to the point at which a “constant yield” tax rate could be achieved. The raid on the fund balance was the extra dollop of ketchup on the burger and fries.

Cuts to expenditures I can support. Robbing our emergency fund I can’t support.

While I haven’t agreed with every decision, Moore’s done a very good job so far and I’m glad she’s decided to throw her hat in the ring.

I believe that she has been a voice of reason and has served the county well. She also boasts an impressive background and would represent the county well in this position.
