As a personal observer at the Animal Control Task Force meeting with the commissioners last week, it was quite obvious that Mindy Carletti and EdieCreek have personal agendas which include crucifying the Cecil County SPCA, Inc. Both of these animal rights activists clearly want to make certain that law, procedures and fees are so cumbersome and expensive that this law will force the hunters, the trackers, dog show and performance events, field and obedience trial people to go underground or move out of Cecil County. That will cost the county licensing and tourism dollars from such sporting event.

These two radical activists, who have no legal authority or power in the county, ninsist that they are attemtping to prevent the Pennsylvania puppy mills from moving into Cecil County. But it's obvious that they are after the average pet owners who enjoy working with their dogs at performance events and these radical extremists want to stop any breeding of animals even by responsible, caring families. These radicals would put the government into your home to prevent you from having just one litter of puppies for your family members.

Even with the existing laws, Cecil County can never become Pennsylvania. This could and will cost Cecil County money. Performance events bring out of towners into the county and they spend money on hotels, restaurants, and many other areas which help tourism and local businesses. With these insidious laws and fees, this will certainly drive large numbers of people to look elsewhere to hold dog shows or outdoor dog events, obedience events, etc.

The Smipkins puppets have already been dazzled by these two non leaders, no doubt for political reasons. Other Commissioners and citizens, please don't let this happpen. Citizens, voice your opinion - call the county office, the county attorney Norman Wilson and the county administrator and let them know to vote "NO" for this politicized verson of the Animal Control Ordinance Ch. 209. Remind them that we are voters and we as dog people do not forget and forgive easily.
