I heard him at the candidates’ debate at the college when he ran for county commissioner. I went into the debate undecided but after hearing him (and having to cover my ears against his shouting) I was disgusted at his negative “I’m smarter than you, I know better” attitude.

I didn’t know before that his major career was working at a music store. So how does that make him any better than other local citizens? How does that make him an expert on land and planning matters? He is unqualified by background and does not have an open mind to listen to people coming to the planning board.

Owen is a nice guy but I am sure if the situation was reversed that an all-Democrat board would not appoint a Republican. I would have made these statements at an evening [Commissioners] meeting but there was not one held.
