I guess now we know why Artesian wanted out of the wastewater deal. We find out that it is going to cost the Citizens of this county Millions more in taxes because the State is forcing us to extend the service area of these sewage facillities. How did Artesian know to get out of this deal. The Commissioners had to know this was coming, or are they that clueless? Give away the moneymaking low maintenance waterworks and keep the failing, high maintenance sewage works? What a deal for Artesian! I guess we now have to find out why 3 Commissioners wanted Artesian to keep the waterworks and to back out of the sewer deal. Friends that own construction companies maybe? Who stands to gain from this? Besides Artesian.

Bob,
You opened by calling 3 Commissioners "IDIOTS" and then you close by saying "there has to be something deeper and more, shall we say, personal for the debacle." So don't you think it's best to wait till we find out the reasoning behind all of this before the name calling?

1) Why not sell Artesian the waste water facilities and keep the water facilities?

2) Why would the County agree to sell facilities that's not even in the growth corridor?

3) Why didn't the County agree to sell ALL of the County owned water/waste water facilities to Artesian?

4) How much more is a piece of land worth as soon as public water/sewer is available?

5) Why didn't Artesian buy Port Deposit's waste water system when they bought the Port's water system?

6) What happens if you have problems with your well after Artesian runs a pipeline down your road?

7) Why wasn't the sale of the facilities on the ballot for vote?

Need I go on?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'd bet that the water side of these systems are the money makers that offset the other. The way I see it, either way the county's utility customers, taxpayers, and property owners are on the losing end of all of this no matter which way it turns out. Do your homework Bob.
